About Me

My name is Dimitri. I live in the beautiful city of Zurich, Switzerland, and write about Private Banking and Wealth Management.

I started my career in investment banking before spending ten years as a Private Banker working with (ultra)-high-net-worth individuals and their families from all across Europe. Being part of large institutions with more than 100’000 employees and tiny startups, I was responsible for the bread-and-butter business of managing client accounts and portfolios and providing investment advice. Additionally, I also took part in diverse projects dealing with organizational change and new technologies.

Apart from Finance and Investments, one topic of significant interest and fascination for me is technological change, its impact on the Financial Services industry, and its applications at the workplace of a Private Banker. I am a football (the European kind) fan, an avid reader, and a cinephile in my spare time. 

Originally, I was born in Ukraine, which back then was part of the Soviet Union. When I was eleven, my family moved to Germany, where I spent my youth and received an education in Banking & Finance. Having also lived in Sweden and Canada, I became used to look at things from different perspectives.
